About Rendlesham Campsite
Our story
Established in 1984 and know as "Tangham Campsite" to both the local community and camping enthusiasts. The site shut in 2021 after COVID, until new operators were found to reimagine and reopen the doors to this charming and much loved family campsite.
The centre of the site is kept for children to "roam free" in a safe environment, all guests are asked to keep to 5mph on the site.
Our location
Experience the beauty of nature up close at Rendlesham Campsite. Our campground is home to diverse wildlife, providing opportunities for birdwatching and nature photography. Tranquil walks and cycle paths offer options for dog walkers, cyclists or those wanting a quiet stroll.
With minimal light pollution, our campground is the perfect spot for astronomy enthusiasts and families alike, offering breath-taking stargazing on clear nights.
Located within an area of outstanding natural beauty in Suffolk, the campsite is the perfect destination for nature lovers. Nestled in amongst pine, beech and ancient oak trees allowing nature to come to you. The campsite is host to deer, birds of prey and varies specifies of flora. As the seasons change look out for newts and yellow stagshorn fungi.
Our facilities
Rendlesham Camping offers a comfortable and convenient camping space, with a range of amenities for our guests, including hot showers, clean toilets with disabled access. Please ask at reception to access our laundry facilities and take a look at our small onsite shop.
There is an ongoing redevelopment plan for the site and facilities to aid guest experience, the team can't wait to welcome new and returning guests to enjoy its appeal.
There is no guest Wi-Fi, we want you to enjoy what the forest has to offer.

All our pitches are 8 x 5 m with electric unless stated otherwise.
Pitches 01, 02, 06, 07, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, 32,33, 38 & 39 are all hardstanding with electric.
Pitches 73, 74 & 75 are jumbo (10 x 6m) grass pitches with electric perfect for larger family tents or caravans.
Pitches 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 50, 51 & 56 are all grass with no access to electricity.
